Ammar Abdullahi Jahadi was born on October 21, 2001, in Maigana, Soba Local Government Area, Kaduna State, to Malam Abdullahi Muhammadu Janare and Malama Adama Abdulmumini. From a young age, Ammar was known for his unwavering commitment to the cause of Allah, earning him the nickname "Jahadi" (meaning 'one who strives').
He began his education at L.E.A Primary School Maigana, attending from 2008 to 2014. He then proceeded to Government Secondary School Tudun Saibu, where he completed his junior secondary education between 2014 and 2017, and his senior secondary education from 2017 to 2020.
Beyond his studies, Ammar was a diligent individual who engaged in farming, livestock rearing, and various small businesses. His parents testified to his profound obedience and stated that nothing held more importance for him than serving the religion of Allah.
Ammar's dedication to the Islamic Movement in Nigeria was profound. He was known for his fearlessness in confronting oppressors and his deep desire to sacrifice in the way of Allah. His love for his leader, Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky, was immense; after the "Buhari incident," he frequently traveled to Abuja, expressing a preference to be close to Sayyid (H).
Ammar Abdullahi Jahadi achieved martyrdom in Zaria on April 6, 2024 (corresponding to 27 Ramadan 1446 AH). He was shot by security forces (soldiers) on April 5, 2024 (26 Ramadan 1446 AH) during a peaceful protest expressing solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine. After sustaining a gunshot wound to the hand, he was hospitalized for one day before succumbing to his injuries and attaining martyrdom.
He was unmarried and left his parents and younger siblings.
A powerful testament to his resolve was found in a letter within his book:
FREE SHEIKH ZAKZAKY ✌️
I call on the youth of the Movement: let nothing deceive them into abandoning Malam.
I wish us martyrdom. May Allah grant us perseverance and steadfastness. O Allah, grant us steadfastness until we witness martyrdom.
I, Ammar Abdullahi, say:
O Allah, accept our martyrs as martyrs who will rise under the leadership of Sayyid Zakzaky (H).
We pray for Malam:
May Allah fulfill his aspirations in Nigeria.
Ilahi! Ilahi!
