Jawad Aminu Liman was born on 3 September 2004 to his parents, Alhaji Aminu Liman and Malam Halima Aminu. Growing up in Kaduna, he was recognized by his family and peers for his modesty, patience, and deep filial devotion. His mother reflected that he showed such steady obedience that she never had occasion to repeat an instruction to him twice.
Alongside his upright conduct, Jawad demonstrated firm spiritual dedication from an early age. He was steadfast in his religious observances, notably keeping the consecutive fasts across the sacred months of Rajab, Sha'ban, and Ramadan without fail.
At the time of his death, Jawad was in his final year of secondary school. Committed to self-reliance and easing his family's financial responsibilities, he balanced his academic studies with petty trading at the Sabuwar Panteka market in Kaduna.
On 26 February 2020, Jawad participated in a peaceful Free Zakzaky demonstration in Kaduna, calling for the release of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky. During the gathering, he was fatally shot in the head by the Nigerian police.
Following the news of his death, his parents met their bereavement with deep faith and acceptance:
“Malam Halima Aminu thanked Allah upon receiving the news of his martyrdom, affirming that if Sheikh Zakzaky were to ask her to sacrifice her remaining children, she would surrender them without hesitation.”
His father, Alhaji Aminu Liman, likewise expressed gratitude to Allah, voicing his contentment that his son had attained a noble station through which the Almighty elevates the ranks of His righteous servants.
